Purnell Madison Parish, LA From Vicksburg Post, August 25, 1934 TALLULAH, La. Aug. 25.-(Special)-Funeral services for Henry P. Purnell, 61, who died suddenly at his store at Afton Friday afternoon of a heart attack, were held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard Almond here yesterday with Rev. C. Karlos Smith. of the Tallulah Methodist church officiating. Mr. Purnell, who was a native of Chotard, Miss., had resided in Madison parish for many years. He was engaged in the planting and mercantile business and was a member of the Madison parish school board. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Almond and Mrs. E. B. Frierson of Tallulah and Miss Lily Purnell of New Orleans and two brothers, Dr. Millard R. Purnell of Shreveport and E. T. Purnell of Tallulah.
