She was 96. Miss Purnell was born in Tallulah and had also lived in Houston. She served as a U.S. Army nurse during World War II. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. today until the service.
