William R. Purnell - Madison Parish, Louisiana

William R. Purnell, 74, of Shreveport, died Monday at Doctor's Hospital in Shreveport.

He was a retired manager of the production department of the First National Bank in Shreveport.

Mr. Purnell was born in Myersville, Mississippi and lived most of his early life in Tallulah. He was 
a 1920 Tallulah High School graduate. Mr. Purnell was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Osborn Funeral Home. Burial followed in 
Forest Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Purnell; one sister, Mrs. Grace P. Hendrix of Healdsburg, Calif., 
and several nieces and nephews.
