All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Edna May Purvis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 21, 1985 Mrs. Edna May Purvis, 87, died Thursday at Madison Parish Hospital after a long illness. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. W.H. Remore officiating. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Merchants Cemetery near Raleigh, Miss. Mrs. Purvis was a Smith County, Miss., native. She lived in Madison Parish for 50 years. She was a member of Church of Lord Jesus Christ. Survivors include four sons, John Willie Purvis of Morgan City, Evon Purvis of Tran-sylvania, Dan Purvis and Charlie Purvis, both of Sondheimer; two daughters, Lois Machen of Sondheimer and Romarie Martin of Magee, Miss.; 27 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Maurice Machen, John W. Purvis Jr., Robert J. Purvis, Edgar B. Purvis, Kenneth Martin and John H. Purvis.
