All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Garland Roberson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal November 23, 1972 Crash kills resident Garland Roberson, 58, was killed Tuesday afternoon when the pickup was driving collided with a trailer truck at the intersection of La. 607 and US 65 north of Tallulah. Roberson, a native Winnfield, resided in Tallulah for 34 years, and owned and operated Garland's Refrigeration & Heating. According to state police, the accident occurred when the Roberson vehicle failed to stop at the intersection, entering the opposing lane on U. S. 65. Officers said one car was run off the road and the tractor-trailer forced onto the shoulder of the Highway, where the Roberson vehicle struck the side of it. No further details were known Wednesday. Mr. Roberson, a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Bradley Roberson; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Kivett, Mrs. Truman Collins, Mrs. Larry Black and Miss Jane Roberson, all of Tallulah; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Mae Reeves, Mrs. Gloria Bradley, Mrs. Faye Harmon and Mrs. Louise Cox; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. today at the First Baptist Church under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
