Mrs. Martha Ann Newsom Rogan passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 64.

Martha was born August 3, 1957, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to James Emmitt and Ruby Irene Mathews Newsom. She graduated from Crowville High School in 1975. She married John Rogan, of Tallulah, Louisiana, January 24, 1975, passing away just a few days shy of their 47th wedding anniversary. Martha and John made their home in Tallulah where they raised two children. She worked at Cross Keys bank over 26 years before taking leave for her illness. She has been a member of Acts Tabernacle in Tallulah since 2002.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents James and Ruby Newsom, both of Winnsboro, Louisiana; and brothers, James “Lynn” Newsom of Simsboro, Louisiana, and Kenneth Newsom of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Martha is survived by her husband of almost 47 years, John Rogan; son, John “Adam” Rogan and wife Candice Pettway of Vicksburg, Mississippi; daughter, Sarah Rogan Watts and husband Gerard “Jerry” of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandchildren, Owen Watts and Maren Watts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and siblings, Dorothy Newsom Chrisulis Curry of Monroe, Louisiana, Edna Newsom Dunn of Pioneer, Louisiana, Randy Newsom of Crowville, Louisiana, and Danny Newsom of Newnan, Georgia

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ann Newsom Rogan will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Acts Tabernacle in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Bro. Greg Nichols officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Tater Fondren, Marlan Glass, Nick Nichols, Seth Nichols, Kenneth Rinicker, Jr., and David Griffing.
