All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Johnny Walker Rogers - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal January 25, 2016 (October 12, 1928 - January 24, 2016) Johnny Walker Rogers, 87, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away Sun., Jan. 24, 2016. Rogers was born in Vicksburg, Miss. to Robert and Elizabeth Hull Olsen. He was a long time resident of Tallulah. He was a mechanic and a professional painter and worked for various companies, such as Chevrolet and GMC. Rogers was also a merchant marine in the United States Marines. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters, Frances Sue (Richard) Allen, of Hemphill; Willie Nell (Danny) Boone, of Delhi; and Rebecca (William) Gilfoil, of Talluah; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Sarah Nell Rogers, who passed away Tues., Dec. 8, 2015. Cremation is under the direction of Starr Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
