All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************************************************** Alvin Emmett Ross Madison Parish, LA From Monroe Morning World, August 30, 1969 TALLULAH (Special) — Alvin Emmett Ross, 48, of Baton Rouge, died Friday from a heart attack enroute to a hospital from his home. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Crothers Funeral Chapel of Tallulah with the Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery. He was a native of Kilbourne and had lived for a number of years in Tallulah. He had been employed in construction work in Baton Rouge for the past seven years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Ross of Baton Rouge; one son, Alton E. Ross of Baton Rouge; six daughters, Mrs. A. C. Mills III, Elizabeth Ann, Velma, Mealy and Sherry Lee Ross, all of Baton Rouge; his mother, Mrs. Annie Reed of Tallulah; two brothers, Charles Ross of Tallulah and Clayton Defidere [sic Desidere] of Hornbeck. Pallbearers will be Ervin Trichell, Elijah Seffins, Carsie Lott, Gerald Lott, Johnny Tims and J. C. Dykes.
