All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Rosalie Clinton Baird Rountree - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 30, 1987 Funeral services for Mrs. Rosalie Clinton Baird Rountree, 87, of Tallulah were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Rayford McClain officiating. Burial was in the Natchez City Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mrs. Rountree died Saturday at her residence following a short illness. She was a native of Houston, Tex., a resident of Tallulah for 70 years, a housewife and a journalist. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Daughters of American Revolution and wife of the late William Lyle Rountree, former editor and publisher of the Madison Journal for over 50 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Rose Capshaw of Leavenworth, Kan. and Mrs. Geneva May Williams of Tallulah: seven grandchildren, Bill Williams of Tallulah, Lane Baird Williams of Monroe, Susan Stefurak of Raleigh, N.C., Edward Lee Williams of New York City, Ben Capshaw III of New Orleans, Clinton Lyle Capshaw of Arlington, Tex. and Donna Capshaw Sumpter of St. Louis, Mo. Pallbearers were Clyde Miller, Shields Bray, Calvin Adams, Joe Cupit, Billy Post, Jim Folk, Harry Holt and Carroll Regan. Honorary pallbearers were J.H. Bryant, Benjamin "Hook" Prewitt, Kirk Morley, Ed Eiland, Cliff Adams and Jack Millikin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church.
