Roy, Sr. - Madison Parish, LA From Tallulah Madison Journal September 10, 1954 J. T. Roy Of Madison Parish Dies Tuesday J. T. Roy, Sr., Madison Parish farner, died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack near his home. He was 71. A native of Woodville, Miss., he lived in Madison Parish since 1924. He operated a barber shop in Tallulah for nearly 20 years. Mr. Roy was a member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge. Surviving are his wife; four sons, John T. Roy, Jr., Harry Roy, and Lucian Roy, all of Tallulah, and Max Roy of Des Moines, Iowa ; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Watson of Tallulah; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Vickers of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. C. C. Vines of Woodville, Miss., and Mrs. Mildred Millard of Natchez, Miss.; three brothers, W. J. Roy, , of Ferriday, Lane Roy of Natchez, Miss., and Garner Roy of Tallulah; and five grandchildren. Services were held Thursday afternoon, at the Willow Bayou Baptist Church, with Rev. Clyde Williams, pastor, conducting, assisted by Rev. W. F. Mayo of the Tallulah Methodist Church. Interment was held at the Silver Cross Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Joe Thornton, Otto Wiggins, Phil Grimes, R. R. Spigener, Eugie Edmonson, T. J. Lott, Rupert Harmon and J. E. Furr, Sr. Honorary pallbearers were: Herbert Massey, Dr. E. Otis Edgerton, Jim Cosse, C. E. Hester, Claude Keller, Edgar Lott, Jack Lott, Charlie Arneson, Odo Cagnolatti, John Watts, A. L. Sevier, Sr., Cliff Erwin, Rodney Naylor, Clarence Parker, Neal T. Holt, W. P. Sevier, Jr., G. L.
