Visitation is 2-6 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 109 W. Claiborn St., Terry, MS with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Pat was the wife of Robert Raymond Rush for 58 years. She was the daughter of the late James R. and Mildred Massie Wallace of Tallulah, Louisiana. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas, a graduate of Tallulah High School, a majorette with the award winning THS Band. She attended the University of Southern Arkansas and was a graduate of St. Dominic School of Nursing. She was employed by Dr. Brock, Kliesch and Yates for over 30 years as Dr. Yates' office nurse and known as Ms Pat by all the children who adored her. She was employed by Oil Mill Gazette as tri-states representative. She was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church which she was devoted to and very active in. A licensed lay minister, past president of St. Catherine's Guild, St. Columbus church, diocesan alter guild as well as church, taught Sunday School. She was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Terry, MS. Pat was active in PTA and little league and minor league baseball where she was team mother, past member American Legion Auxiliary, Post 100, and 50-year member Madison Chapter # 94 Eastern Star. She was a member of Daughters of King, a prayer order in her church. She is survived by her loved and devoted husband, Robert R. Rush, Sr. of 58 years; a daughter, Carole Buffington and husband, Jay of Braxton, MS; two sons, Robert Rush, Jr. of Ohio and James Leonard Rush and wife, Lisa of Pearl, MS; six grandchildren, Laura Smith, Stephanie Bates and husband, Curtis, Timothy Keen, Robert Wallace Rush and wife, Shea, Melissa Rush and Kelly Rush; six great-grandchildren, Patricia Briann Lewis, Justin Hunter Lewis, Taylor Rush, Jason Tyler Rush, Jeremiah Stevens and Cayden Robert Rush; sister-in-law, Martha Cullen of Atlanta, Bettie Hogan of Houston; an aunt, Mrs. Lamar Massie of Little Rock. She was the oldest of five Massie cousins and the youngest of eight Wallace cousins. She adored her job, her family, her church and life-long friends: Janie Maxwell, James Washburn and Jeanne Rogillio.
