All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Joseph Scurria - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 8, 1959 Services Held For Joe Scurria Here Monday Funeral services for Joseph Scurria, 70, who died of a heart attack last Friday while fishing near Delta Point were held at St. Edwards Church Monday morning e at 9 a. m., with Father William M. Hopp officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Mr. Scurria was a well known retired merchant. He was born in Cefalu, Italy and came to this country 55 years ago. He lived in Monroe for a few years and then came to Tallulah, where he had lived ever since. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Forte Scurria; two sons, Phillip J. Scurria and Sam J. Scurria, both of Tallulah; four daughters, Mrs. Sidney O'Neal of Monroe, and Mrs. Anthony Giliberto, Mrs. Joseph Giliberto and Miss Jennie Scurria, all of Glendale, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Harry Giardina of Glendale, Calif., one brother, Vincent Scurria of Aberdeen; 12 grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Pallbearers were Dr. H. S. Provine, Burney Westmoreland, H. C. Sevier, Jr., Walter Scott, Fred Massey, Clyde May, Herbert Massey, Carroll Crow and M. C. Farlow. Honorary pallbearers were all friends of the family.
