Scurria, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal May 10, 2000 Funeral services for Mr. Philip S. Scurria, Sr., 90, of Tallulah, were held Saturday, May 6, 2000, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Tallulah with Father Ferre' D'Cruz officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Scurria died Friday, May 4, in the Delhi Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Tallulah and had lived in Tallulah all his life. He was a merchant and businessman since 1934. Ile was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Tallulah. Survivors include three sons: Dr. Samuel P. Scurria and wife Joyce, Delhi, La.; Philip S. Scurria, Jr., and wife Peggy, Tallulah; Thomas A. Scurria and wife Theresa, Delhi: two sisters: Angelina Illardo, Dallas, Texas; Jennie Scurria, Tallulah: two brothers: Sam Scurria, Jr., Tallulah, Joseph Scurria, Tallulah: l1 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers: Dr. Philip L. Scurria, Vicksburg, Miss., Dr. Mark Scurria, Delhi, Phil S. Scurria, III, Tallulah, Dr. Beaufdom, Memphis, Tenn., Thomas A. Scurria, II, Dallas, Steven Gough, Baton Rouge, La., and Gene Blades, Baton Rouge. Honorary pallbearer was Jim Gilfoil. Special thanks to doctors, nurses, staff, and employees of Delhi Hospital and Olive Branch Senior Care Center. Memorials may be made to St. Edwards Catholic Church of Tallulah.
