All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Jay Wesley Seale - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 7, 1994 A memorial service for Jay Wesley Seale will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Jay was one of five DEA agents killed August 27 when a DEA surveillance plane crashed in a remote area of Peru's cocaine-producing jungle. He was 31. Jay was a 1981 graduate of Tallulah Academy and was selected to the 1980 all state football team. He served in the U.S. Army 1984-1988 with the 82nd Airborne Division, reaching the rank of sergeant. Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1990 and joined the New Orleans division of DEA in 1991. He was currently assigned to the Los Angeles division of DEA with the rank of Journeyman Special Agent. Jay was the son of Frances Seale of Tallulah and John T. "Bud" Seale and Donna Seale of Monroe and New Orleans, and a brother, Brad Seale, living in St. Petersburg, Fla. Maternal grandparents include Mary Grace Bradshaw and the late J. H. Bradshaw of El Dorado, Ark., and paternal grandparents, Edna Ruth Seale of Shreveport, formerly of El Dorado, and the late Percy Seale. A memorial service for Jay and the four other agents killed in the plane crash was held Saturday at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Jay will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery Wednesday at 11 a.m. in a family graveside service. Friends are invited to visit with Jay's family in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church following Thursday's memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Jay Seale Memorial Fund, Hibernia National Bank, Tallulah. Memorial funds have been dedicated to provide college scholarships on a nationwide basis for the children of law enforcement officers whose lives were lost in the line of duty.
