All rights reserved. ************************************************ Leon Ashley Secrest - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post August 31, 2003 TALLULAH - Leon Ashley Secrest died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 89. Mr. Secrest was born in Yell County, Ark., and lived in Madison Parish for 50 years. He had been a deacon at Mound Baptist Church since 1956 and was a retired boat operator and riverboat pilot for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 100. He is survived by his wife, Doshie Lee Secrest; a son, Bob Secrest of North Little Rock, Ark.; a grandson, Robert Ashley Secrest of Little Rock; a granddaughter, Jessica Cloninger of North Little Rock, and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
