All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Margaret Allen Sevier - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 28, 1966 Mrs. Jim Sevier Dies In Jackson, Miss. Mrs. Jim Sevier died Sunday January 23, 1966 in Jackson, Miss. where she had been making her home the past few years. Funeral services were held here Monday at 2 p. m. from Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Clark Bell officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Sevier was affectionately known to a long line of students here as "Miss Maggie." She was Miss Margaret Allen before her marriage to Mr. Jim Sevier in 1922. She had taught in the parish public schools well over twenty five years. She was born in Attala, County, Miss. in 1882. She moved to this parish with her family. Mr. D. H. Allen, former mayor of Tallulah was a brother and Mrs. Roxy Roberta Allen Sevier (Jim Sevier's first wife deceased) was her sister. Mr. Henry Sevier of Tallulah and Mrs. Perry Folk also of Tallulah, her nephew and niece (actually stepson and stepdaughter) survive her, and a number of great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her (nephews and) great nephews, Barton Sevier, Howard S. Sevier, Warren Sevier, A. L. Sevier, Jr., Don Sevier and Jim Sevier.
