Sevier, Sr., 76, retired merchant and planter of Tallulah, La., died at a local hospital last night following an illness of several weeks. Deceased was born in Leake county, near Kosciusko. Miss., but had made his home in Louisiana for many years. He is survived by his wife: three sons, W. P. Sevier, Jr., who is connected with the Tallulah Bank: Barton Sevier, who is in the armed services, and James Sevier who is with the U. S. Army overseas; four daughters, Mrs. Travis McNeel of Tallulah, Mrs. Dan Donald of Jennings, La.; Mrs. E. E. Warrick of Tendal, La., and Miss Charlotte Sevier of Tallulah; four grandchildren; one brother, Jim Sevier of Gulfport, Miss.; and two sisters, Mrs. O. S. Nicols of Tallulah, and Mrs. Laura Herring of Innis, La. Funeral services will be held from the family residence In Tallulah Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. H. A. Rickey, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
