All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Ida Shields - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, October 13, 1941 AGED RESIDENT OF TALLULAH DIES TALLULAH, La., Oct. 13--Miss Ida Shields, 84, died today at the home of her niece, Mrs. A G. Bray in Tallulah, with whom she had been living for a number of years. Born at Roakley Plantation near Natchez, Miss Shields came to Tallulah several years ago. She had been in ill health for a long time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home, with the Rev. J. Maurer, rector of the Episcopal Church officiating. Deceased was a member of the church and of the Trinity Guild. She is survived by her brother Capt. Tom Shields of Jackson and a niece, Mrs. Bray and a nephew, Frank Thomas of Tallulah. Pallbearers at the funeral were Collins Thomas, Shields Bray, Arthur Bray, Nat Bray, Emmett C. Craig, and William Wallace Ziegler.
