Smith Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 5, 1989 Funeral services for Mr. Charles L. Smith Sr., 65, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Tuesday morning at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson after a short illness. He was a native of Goldonna and had been a resident of Tallulah for the past 28 years. He was a World War II veteran, a member of American Legion Post 100, owner and operator of Smith's Furniture Store and a member of the Tallulah First United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Smith of Tallulah; two sons, Charles L. Smith Jr. of Tallulah and Percy C. Smith of LaBelle, Fla.; one grandson; four granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Don Calhoun, William Givens, Theo Watson, Bill King, Arnold Eason and Herman Ghrigsby.
