"Skip" Smith died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident. He was 57. Born in Natchitoches, Mr. Smith had lived in Madison Parish most of his life. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two sons, Jamie Smith of Tallulah and Blake Smith of Epps; a daughter, Breanne Smith of Tallulah; a brother, Kenneth J. Smith of Tallulah; his mother, Zula Lord Smith of Winnsboro; four sisters, Barbara Ann Watson of Monroe, Jerry Richardson of St. Joseph, Fae Holloway of Baskin, La., and Glyn Lawson of Monroe; nieces, nephews; and other relatives. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bubba Richardson, Bo Holloway, Ronnie Deckleman, Artie Skeldon, Charles Grace and Danny Beard. Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Sykes. Church.
