All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Peggy Louise Keyes Smith - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post October 26, 2007 TALLULAH -- Peggy Louise Keyes Smith died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center. She was 62. A native of Tallulah, Mrs. Smith graduated from Tallulah High School in 1964. In 1978, she became a member of the first graduating class of Tallulah Vocational Technical School. She attended the Meridian branch of Mississippi State University and graduated from The Dale Carnegie Course. She became advertising manager at the Madison Journal in Tallulah in 1965. She later worked at the Meridian Star for 11 years as an advertising executive, where she won awards. She was the secretary at Comfort Heating and Air in Shreveport, La., but retired in March 2004. She was a member of Willow Bayou Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla Michelle Smith; her parents, Joseph Franklin Keyes Sr. and Emma Viola Bearden Keyes; and her grandparents, William Edgar Bearden and Rosie Carrie DeCota Bearden. Survivors include her son, John Lee Smith Jr. of Bossier City, La..; four brothers, Joseph Franklin Keyes Jr. of Farmerville, La., Edgar Ray Keyes Sr. and Charles Edward Keyes Sr., both of Tallulah, and Robert Wayne Keyes Sr. of Utica; five sisters, Katherine Marie Hurley of Monroe, Betty Lou Miles of Goodwill, La., Mary Jeanette Boman and Marilyn Ann Armstrong, both of Quitman, Miss., and Sandy Lynn Bowden of Guntown,Miss. Pallbearers will be Dale Bowman, Michael Bowden, Dusty Keyes, Eddie Keyes, Charlie Keyes and Bobby Armstrong. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Revs. Johnny Magnuson and John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery and will be under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the M.D.A Association or the Olive Branch Senior Care Center.
