Smith - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Jackson, MS Clarion-Ledger November 30, 2014 Brandon Thomas J. Smith, 67, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at his residence. Visitation is 6-8 pm Sunday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 1 pm Monday, December 1, 2014 at the funeral home with a 4 pm graveside at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, LA. Mr. Smith was a native of Tallulah, LA, a longtime resident of Rankin County and was Baptist. He served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star. Mr. Smith worked for many years for USDA retiring in 1994 and was a board member of the Reservoir Fire Protection District. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Smith of Brandon; son, Stephen Smith (Julie) of Flowood; grandchildren, Bailey Smith of Brandon and Ashley Smith of Ruidosa, New Mexico; great grandchild, Sawyer Reed Smith of Brandon; sisters, Gladys Williams of Tallulah, LA, Thelma Cox of West Monroe, LA and Cindy Head of West Monroe, LA; brothers, Charles Smith of Tallulah, LA and James Ray Smith of Bridge City, TX; mother-in-law, Geynell Hagood of Eudora, AR. He is also survived a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Thomas J. "Bo" Smith in 2013; parents, C H and Estelle Smith and brother, Jimmy Earl Smith.
