Spells died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 87. Mrs. Spells was born in Ida, La., and had lived in Tallulah most of her life. She worked at Lee’s Bakery and Delta Haven Nursing Home and retired as dietitian from Madison Parish Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Tallulah Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd Spells; one daughter, Patsy Ruth Spells; and a grandson, Richard Samples. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Joyce Samples and Jeannie Collins, both of Tallulah; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Sabin officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bill Ziegler, Henry Hicks, Truman Collins, Stephen Collins, Curt Collins, Dave Collins and Danny Collins.
