All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** James Floyd Spells - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 16, 1999 Funeral services for Mr. James Floyd Spells, 88, were held Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at the First United Methodist Church of Tallulah with Rev. Kirby Vining and Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Spells died Monday, June 14. at the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was retired from the Louisiana State Department of Highways and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a native of Marianna. Ark., and had lived in Tallulah since 1932. He is survived by his wife: Helen B. Spells, Tallulah: two daughters: Peggy Joyce Samples and Jeannie Collins and husband Donald, all of Tallulah: one sister: Ethel Brown. Cleveland, Miss.: one brother: Ira Spells, Tallulah: five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Truman Collins, Gerald Collins, Steve Collins, Bill Ziegler, Sonny Copes, Mike Rome and Henry Hicks.
