All rights reserved. ************************************************ George Spencer - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, August 15, 1982 George Spencer Funeral Today TALLULAH, La. - Services for George Spencer were held today at 10 a.m. in the Crothers Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Joel C. Treadwell officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Spencer died Saturday in the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans after a lengthy illness. He was 57. Mr. Spencer was a native of Vicksburg and had lived most of his life in Tallulah. He was a lawyer, a veteran of World War II and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith K. Spencer of Metairie; one daughter, Patty Spencer, Metairie; four stepsons: George Shannon Sr., Gretna, La., Robert Shannon, Shreveport, and Jon Shannon and James Shannon, both of Metairie, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Edith Lancaster of Metairie. Pallbearers were George Shannon Jr., Robert M. Shannon nor, Jon Shannon, James C. Shannon, Charles Lancaster and Charles Everhart.
