All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Ida Gentry Starrett - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 29, 1950 Mrs. Ida Starrett Funeral Held Here Wednesday Mrs. Ida Gentry Starrett, 80, resident of Tallulah for many years, died at the home of her son, W. C. Starrett Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. She was a native of Eupora, Miss. Mrs. Starrett, an invalid for the past 21 months, was at one time president of the Tallulah Book Club and was active in civic organizations. She was a member of the Christian Science Church. Services were held at the home of her son, W. C. Starrett of Tallulah, Wednesday at 3 o'clock, with Miss Alwine Mulhearn conducting the services. Miss Mulhearn is first reader of the Christian Science Church of Vicksburg. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of the Rev. J. D. Gilliam of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah. Services were directed by the Crothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers were : L. Farr, L. Tonore, J. W. Huckabay, Louis Stinson, B. P. Folk, Dave Kaufman, Jim Sevier, Ernest Stewart. Besides her son, she is survived by three brothers, Fred Gentry of Newellton; Leslie Gentry, Tallulah; Ezra Gentry of Luxora, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Sam Lindsey of Holly Grove, Ark.; one grandson, Robert C. Todd, and two great-grandchildren.
