Mrs. Alma Stewart succumbs at age 88

Mrs. Alma Cole Stewart, 88, died Saturday at the Delta Haven Nursing Home here after a long illness.

Graveside services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stewart Cemetery in Gibsland with the Rev. 
Crawford Williams officiating.

A native of Sailes, Mrs. Stewart had been a resident of Madison Parish for 34 years. She was a 
member of the Sypress Springs Baptist Church of Sailes.

Survivors include two sons, J. Frank Stewart of Sondheimer and Ernest H. Stewart of Tallulah: a 
sister, Mrs. Clara Guice of Bossier City; three brothers, Loyce Cole of Bossier City, Don Cole 
and Paxton Cole both of Gibsland; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W. J. Wilson, Pete Russell, M. N. Batchelor, Gus Eaker, Lonan Byrd and Clinton Givens.
