All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Vera Nix Stewart - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 18, 1998 Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Nix Stewart, age 90, of Tallulah were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Stewart Family Cemetery in Sailes, La. Mrs. Stewart died Sunday, March 15, at the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born at Jamestown, La., and had lived in Madison Parish since 1937. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah. She was a member of the Walnut Bayou Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest H. Stewart, and an infant son. Survivors include two daughters: Jane Stewart Slater of Benton, La., and Ernestine Stewart Wilton of Tallulah; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
