Stone - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, July 16, 1934 AGED TALLULAH RESIDENT DIES SUNDAY NIGHT TALLULAH, La., July 16 -- Miss Amanda R. Stone, 72, a life long resident of Madison parish and one of its most highly esteemed citizens, died at her home here last night after an illness of many months. The deceased was a devout member of the Presbyterian church and until her health failed had been active in civic work. She was born near Delta, La., in December, 1862, and had resided in Tallulah for a number of years. Funeral services took place from the home at eleven o'clock this morning with the Rev. H. N. Alexander officiating. Interment was in Silver Cross cemetery here. Miss Stone is survived by her nephew and niece, Will S. Holmes and Miss Amy Holmes of Tallulah.
