All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ John Beverly Stone - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 25, 1944 John Beverly Stone John Beverly Stone was found dead of bullet wounds declared self inflicted, Wednesday morning, at the home of his grandfather Mr. Tom H. Harris. Beverly was eighteen in July of this year, and entered the United States Navy in June. He was given an honorable discharge from the Navy, because of physical inability, and returned to Tallulah only last week. He was born in Tallulah, and is survived by his father, John Stone, of California and his grandfather, Mr. Tom Harris, a half sister Alice Lorraine Young, and a grandmother, Mrs. Virgie Stone, of California and many relatives. Beverly was a graduate of Tallulah High School, where he was an honor pupil and was president of his graduating class in 1943. Funeral Services were held at six o'clock Thursday evening from the home of Mrs. W. M. Murphy with Internment in Silver Cross Cemetery. Crothers Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral.
