All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Johnie Thames - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 30, 1986 Johnie Thames, 70, died Saturday at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi after a long illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crothers Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with the Revs. Allen Peebles and Charles Gaston officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. He was a native of Franklin Parish, a resident of Madison Parish for 43 years, a farmer and a member of Warsaw Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Smith Thames of Tallulah; two sons, Robert Thames and Richard Thames, both of Tallulah; three daughters, Barbara Averett of Tallulah, Maxine White of Southhaven, Miss., and O1a Noisey of Booneville, Mo.; one brother, Travis Thames of Baskin; one sister, Edna Prewitt of Monroe; 10 grand-children; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Frith, Ray Chilton, Sharron Chapman, Gary Lynn Killingsworth, Herman Welch and Cecil Kelly.
