Utz Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 27, 1950 Miss A. V. Utz Funeral Held Here Wednesday Funeral services for Miss A. V. Utz, one of the oldest residents of Madison Parish were held at the home of Mrs. John W. Carpenter,near Duckport Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. She died Tuesday afternoon at her home. She was 84 years old. The Rev. Shirley Briggs officiated, and interment followed in the City Cemetery at Vicksburg. A native of Madison Parish, Miss Utz was a member of an old and prominent family. Mr. Carpenter was her nephew and she had made her home with him for the past several years. Pall bearers were: G. T. Shepherd, Richard Alexander, Leroy Smith, John Louiza, Joe Clark, and Ed Yerger. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. J. Wade Wallace of Edinburgh, Tex., and a nephew, W. H. Utz of Edinburgh. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home, Tallulah.
