All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Leslie Gaboury Verhagen - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Worcester (MA) Telegram & Gazette 7/27/2008 A memorial mass for Leslie Gaboury Verhagen will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Tallulah, LA. There will be a gathering for family and friends in the church reception hall immediately following the mass. Father Ferre DeCruz will be officiating. Mrs. Verhagen passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer. Leslie was born in Webster, Massachusetts on December 21, 1935. She graduated from St. Louis High School. Mrs. Verhagen served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. She moved to Tallulah, LA in 1957. Mrs. Verhagen worked as a social worker for the Madison Parish Welfare Department for 33 years. After her retirement in 1986, she enjoyed life to the fullest. She filled her days spending time with her children, travelling and playing bridge and booray with a host of friends. Mrs. Verhagen was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Roland Gaboury, Sr. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Stacy Solet and husband Mike of Houma, LA, and Marty Verhagen and wife, Kim of Monroe, LA. Brother, Roland Gaboury, Jr. and wife, Bea of Brooklyn, Conn. Sister, Patricia Raymond of Delray Beach, FLA. Numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved grand dogs: Spanky, Sissi, and Sabrina. The family would like to thank Dr. Marshall Leary and staff and Dr. Robert Ebeling. We would also like to thank everyone at Collins Haworth Home Health and Patients Choice Hospice. Special thanks to her very caring sitters: Bobbie, Brenda, Doris, and Pat.
