All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************************************************** Eugene Lee Wallace Madison Parish, LA From Monroe News-Star October 16, 1962 TALLULAH (Special) — Funeral services for Eugene Lee Wallace, 63, a Tallulah merchant, who died at noon Monday in a car wrect near Tendall, were scheduled to be at 3 p.m. today in the Methodist Church here. Mr. Wallace was the brother of Mrs. Lillian Wetson of Monroe. The Rev. Wilson Watkins was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. O. R. Daniels and the Rev. Bobby Brown. Burial was to be in Delhi Cemetery under direction of Cupit-Young Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Wallace was killed instantly when his car left Highway 80 about nine-and-one-half miles west of here, slammed into a tree and burst into flames. He was thrown clear of the car. A member of the Methodist Church and Rotary International, Mr. Wallace had been a merchant here for the past 21 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Inez Blanchard Wallace, Tallulah; a son, E. L. Wallace Jr., New Orleans; four brothers, Jones Wallace, Columbus, Miss., Clarence Wallace, Mindenhall [sic Mendenhall], Miss., Edward Wallace, Jackson, Miss. and Wesley Wallace, Braxton, Miss.; three other sisters, Mrs. Virduse Gill, New Orleans, Mrs. Pete Uryuvick, and Mrs. Leonard Callahan, both of New York City; and a grandchild. Pallbearers were to be Lewis Nettles, Bill Windham, Lloyd Shelton, Ralph Bloom, Lamar T. Loe, Walter Erickson, Fred Beckett and Charles Boyd Smith.
