Flint, Texas - Blanche Washam went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:52 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 after suffering from a lengthy illness. She was born on September 8, 1933 in Oak Grove, LA to the late J D and Marvie Welch. She was a current resident of Flint, TX having formerly lived in Newellton, LA and Tallulah, LA. She was a teacher at heart having taught kindergarten and Sunday School for over 60 years.

 

Services for Blanche Washam, 84, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Park Robertson officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at Stewart Family Funeral Home.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, J D and Marvie Welch; one brother, Manual Welch.

 

Survivors are her husband, Murray Washam of Flint, TX; two daughters, Vickie Washam Coleman and husband Mike and Dianna Washam Gittleson and husband Scott; one son, Barry Washam and wife Julie; one sister, Modene Stafford of Bogalusa, LA and many in-laws and nieces and nephews. She had 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.

 

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, David Morris, Nick Washam, Chris Moore and Caleb Gittleson and nephews, Kenny Beck, Tommy Stafford, Wendell Stafford and Micah Harper.
