All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Hubert Watts - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 20, 1969 Final Rites Held For Hubert Watts Funeral services were held last Friday morning for Hubert Watts, 35, who was fatally injured Wednesday when the truck he was driving went off a bridge south of Lake Providence. He was driving a truck loaded with brick when the accident occurred. According to investigating officers, the truck went over the bridge after striking the railing, and into a ditch, hitting an embankment. He was taken to a Lake Providence hospital, where he died shortly after arrival. Mr. Watts, who owned and operated a farm south of Tallulah, is survived by his wife; two sons, Hubert Jr. and George; four daughters, Kathy, Cindy, Tracy and Carolyn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Watts of Tallulah; two brothers, John Howard Watts of Baton Rouge and Eddie Watts of Tallulah; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Maxwell of Delhi. Funeral services were held at the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Revs. Crawford Williams and Don Hale officiating. Burial followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Tallulah. Pallbearers were Richard Powell, Billy Hillman, William Reed, Sam Robertson, Rufus Yerger, Sr. and Onward Bullard.
