All rights reserved. ************************************************ Charles Edward Whetstone - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Jackson Clarion-Ledger June 18, 2003 WOODVILLE, MS — Charles Edward Whetstone, 72, died of cancer Monday, June 16, 2003, at Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez. Services are 11 a.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodville with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Ed Lundin will officiate the services. Berryhill Funeral Home of Woodville is handling arrangements. Mr. Whetstone owned and operated Charles E. Whetstone Realty Company. He was past Vice President in southern region of Mississippi Farm Bureau, president of Wilkinson County Farm Bureau, Chairman of Wilkinson County Republican party, and past Senior warden of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of L.S.U., where he majored in Animal Science and Chemistry and was a member of S.A.E. fraternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Ray Whetstone and Elizabeth Smith Whetstone. Survivors include: wife, Joan Savage Whetstone of Woodville; three sons, Charles E. Whetstone, Jr., Clifford C. Whetstone, and J. Randolph Whetstone, all of Woodville; two daughters, Susan Whetstone Chandler and Joan Whetstone Barnett, both of West Point; one brother, Glen Ray Whetstone, Jr. of Woodville; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kyle Chandler IV, Charles Chandler, Randy Whetstone, Dustin Whetstone, Zachary Whetstone, August Morris, and Hayden Whetstone. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Lanehart, Stephen Poole, Blake Jensen, Edwin Holt, Wettlin Treppendahl, Stephen Seal, Andy Lewis, Dr. David McGraw, David Treppendahl, Warren Virgets, Ben Tolbert, Benny Williams, John Grace, Mike Daughdrill, Jerry Cockerham, Dickie Smithers, David Flacomia, Gary D'Aquilla, Glen Whetstone, III, and Kenneth McDuff. Madison Coordinator's note: Charles Whetstone lived in Tallulah from about 1940 until he graduated from college in 1952. He graduated from Tallulah High School (with me) in 1948.
