Whetstone - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 28, 1989 Funeral services for former Tallulah resident Mr. Glen R. Whetstone, 87, were held June 21 at the Woodville, Miss. Christian Church with Dr. O. B. Beverly and Rev. Whitney Barnes officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery under direction of Berryhill Funeral Home. Mr. Whetstone, a native of Wilkinson County, Miss., died June 18 at Mercy Regional Medi-cal Center in Vicksburg following a lengthy illness. Mr. Whetstone was a resident of Tallulah from 1939 until he moved back to Woodville in November, 1988. He was a retired cotton seed and soybean buyer for the Port Gibson Oil Company, a position which he held for 46 years. Survivors include two sons, Charles Edward Whetstone and Glen Ray Whetstone Jr., both of Woodville; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jerry Wade, Joe Carpenter, Scott Middleton, William Yarbrough, Glen Ray Whetstone III, Charles E. Whetstone Jr., Clifford Whetstone and Randy Whetstone. Honorary pallbearers were C. Y. Katzenmier, Lambert Huff, Buddy Fairchild, Louis Dalfiume, R. E. Fowler, Dr. L. J. Owens, Dr. Robert Lewis, Dr. George Martin, Dr. John Shell, Bill Payne, Henry C. Sevier Jr. and John Rollins.
