M. Whitaker Funeral Services for Charles M Whitaker, 78, who died in a Monroe hospital last Friday were held at 2 P. M., Sunday at the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Savoie officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. He was a native of Rocky Springs, Miss., and had lived in Madison Parish for the past 30 years. He was a retired building contractor and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles H. Whitaker, Tallulah, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ralph Reed, Warren Crawford, Leroy Chambless, Ross Murphy, Tommy Cleveland and Marvin Worley.
