All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ George Hunter Whitehead - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal May 6, 1987 SHREVEPORT-Services for Mr. George Hunter Whitehead, 72, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 1 at the First Baptist Church Chapel. Dr. N.O. Pugh officiated, assisted by Dr. Greory Hunt, of the church. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Mr. Whitehead died Wednesday April 29, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Byram Whitehead of Shreveport; two daughters, Marcia Whitehead Haworth and husband, Major Jerry Haworth, ret., of Fresno, Calif. and Mrs. Gwendolyn Whitehead Gibson and husband, Dr. Ken Gibson, of Holland, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Everett of Tallulah; one brother, James Carter Whitehead of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Gordon McGee, Hal Hutchings, Kenney Gibson Jr., Todd Ivey, Buddy Bradshaw and Chess Hutchings II.
