White - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 30, 1961 Services Held Sunday Afternoon for J. C. White Funeral services for J. C. White, 76, who died in a Monroe hospital last Saturday following a long illness, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Huston and Rev. J. H. Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. A native of Alabama, he had lived in Madison Parish for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, J. D. White, Lexie, Arkansas; and Don White of the U. S. Marines; two daughters, Mrs. Gracie StaIlings, Elaine, Arkansas; and Mrs. Gladys Pitts, Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, three brothers, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cliff Erwin, George Townsend, Billy Finlayson, George Smith and L. C. Byrd.
