All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** August Hoffman "Gus" Willett III - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Express-Times Easton, PA May 31, 2023 EASTON, PA August Hoffman "Gus" Willett III, 82, of Easton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 29, 2023 in Easton Hospital. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Pados) Willett. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 19, 2023. Born January 17, 1941 in Vicksburg, MS, he was a son of the late August H. Jr. and Ann (Palmer) Willett. Gus was a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He later worked as a service writer for Slate Belt Buick Pontiac and Jeep in Wind Gap, Brown-Daub in Easton and retired from Sears in Walnutport. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council, Hearts for Deborah at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, past president of the Florida Dairyman Association and, in earlier years, was active in the Boy Scouts. In his spare time, Gus could always be found taking daily walks, on College Hill, with his dog Macy. Along with his wife Barbara, Gus is survived by his son, Edward Willett and his wife Mariana of Nazareth; 2 grandsons, Julian and Tyler; and 2 brothers, Dr. Edward Daniel Willett and his wife Wanda of Fairhope, AL and David Willett of Talullah, LA. Gus was predeceased by 2 brothers, Trent Willett and Palmer Willett and 1 sister Ann Bounds. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, from 6 pm-9 pm in the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Funeral services and burial will be private.
