All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Sybil Lane Williams - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 18, 1966 Services Held Monday for Mrs. Sybil Williams Sybil Lane Williams, widow of the late Webb Bryan Williams, died shortly after midnight in a Vicksburg hospital Sunday morning after an illness of several months. She was born in Tallulah October on 10, 1897, the daughter of the late Andrew Tyson Lane and Annie Lee Adams Lane, pioneer residents of Madison Parish. She attended elementary school in Ruston and graduated from Louisiana Industrial Institute, now Louisiana Tech. She was married to Mr. Williams August 13, 1917 at her home in Tallulah where they lived all their lives. Mr. Williams preceded her in death less than two months. Mrs. Williams was a loyal and faithful member of the Methodist church since her youth and served the Woman's Society of Christian Service as president and held other offices in the organization. She was also active in the Tallulah Book Club. Her winsome personality and sterling character endeared her to her family and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Monday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. Clark Bell officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Adrian Willett, Gus Willett, Phillip J. Scurria, Carroll T. Crow, Robert N. Graves, Erie Read Jr., Lane Plauche and Judge Ciff Adams. Surviving are three sons, Milton, Lane Williams of Vicksburg, Ed Webb Williams of Tallulah, Warren Andrew Williams of McComb, Miss, a daughter, Mrs. Maurice Ursery, Tallulah, two sisters, Mrs. S. W. Plauche, Lake Charles, Mrs. Erie Read, Tallulah, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Another daughter, Annie F. Mary Williams died in infancy April 20, 1930. W. Sherman, Mr. R. H. Craig, Mr. Thomas F. Shelton and Mrs. Edward Lawler of Vicksburg. Mrs. Willie Mae Miller of Mount Olive, Miss.; Mr. Charles Whittington, Mr. Hugh Critz, Mr. C. J. Stratton and Mr. G. U. Black of Greenwood, Miss.; Mr. and Mrs. John D.
