All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Jessie Winters - Madison Parish, Louisiana 3/3/1893 to 5/2/1969 From Madison Journal, Tallulah, LA 5-8-1969 Mother Jessie Winters, a pioneer citizen and widow of the late Rev. L. H. Winters, succumbed quietly, Friday, May 2, at 2:30 p. m. at the Delta Haven Nursery Hume, after a long illness. Mother Winters was a former nurse, serving in capacity of Midwife nurse for many years. she served the people of this community whom she loved so well. She was called and Baptized in the Morning Star Baptist Church, 1912, by the late Rev. Jim Jones, and there remained till death. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 11, 1969, time, 1:30 p. m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church, West Craig St., with Morning Star B. C., Talla Bena in charge. Rev. C. R. Redden, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the New Oakwood Cemetery in Tallulah, LA. Harris Funeral is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include, three sons, Mr. Albert Reed 504 Fish St., Mr. George Reed, Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. Jackson Berry, Oakland, Calif; six step children, all of California.
