Wixon - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 12, 1960 Services Held For C. E. Wixon At Methodist Church Funeral services for Cyrus E. Wixon, 78, who died last Wednesday afternoon in a Winnsboro hospital, were held at the Tallulah Methodist Church with the Rev. William S. Mayo officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. Mr. Wixon, a merchant in Tendal for over 35 years, was also at one time a member of the Madison Parish Police Jury for 17 years. He was on the School Board for 12 years and a member of the Methodist Church. A resident of Madison Parish for over 35 years, he came to Tendal from his native home of Cary, Miss. Mr. Wixon is survived by his widow, Mrs. Wixon; two sons, Cyrus Wixon, Jr., Tendal, and Leon Wixon, Lake Wells, Florida; three daughters; Mrs. C. H. Calhoun, West Monroe, Mrs. W. M. Strickland, Arcadia, and Mrs. Charles Beckett, Memphis,Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were H. C. Sevier, Sr., Reid Watts, Jim Frazier, Jr., G. B. Studdard, Roy Snider, Charles Blown, Charles Arneson and Obie Harmon.
