Wixson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post June 10, 1950 FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TODAY FOR VARDY T. WIXSON TALLULAH, June 10-Funeral services were held this morning in Tendal, La. for Vardy T. Wixson, 39, who died in a Meridian hospital Friday morning after a brief illness. Mr. Wixson, a farmer by occupation, was a member of a prominent Madison Parish family. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Wilma Ruth Wixson; a son, Tommy Wixson; a daughter, Suzanne Wixson; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wixson of Tendal; three sisters, Mrs. W. M. Strickland of Arcadia, La., Mrs. C. H. Calhoun of Tallulah, and Mrs. Charles Beckett of Memphis; two brothers, Leon Wixson of Gibsland, La., and C. E. Wixon, Jr., of Tendal. The Reverend John F. Kilpatrick, pastor of the Methodist Church in Tallulah, officiated at the services which were held in the home of C. E. Wixson. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery with Young's funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were E. E. Warrick, Ford Ware, Billy Bruce, Jack Bruce, Jimmy Bruce and Burt Brooks.
