Final rites held for John S. Woods

Funeral services for John Stanley Woods, 34, of Tallulah, were held Wednesday at the Union Methodist 
Church at Newellton with the Rev. A. D. Foster officiating. Burial was in the Legion Memorial Cemetery 
at Newellton under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mr. Woods died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence after a short illness.

A member of the Union Methodist Church, Mr. Woods was a cattleman and was a lifelong resident of 
Madison Parish.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Brenda Woods of Tallulah; one son, John S. Woods Jr.; one daughter, 
Miss Stephanie Renee Woods, both of Tallulah; two brothers, Charles Woods of Vicksburg, Miss., and 
Denny Woods of Chicago, Ill.; six sisters, Mrs. Lorene Ray of Goned, Ark., Mrs. Glennis Bruce of 
Glen Rose, Tex., Mrs. Rita Mae Slate of Irving, Tex., Mrs. Joyce Armstrong of Odessa, Tex., Mrs. 
June May of Newellton, and Mrs. Hollis Arnold of Tyler, Tex; and his father, Raymond S. Woods of Tallulah.

Pallbearers were Estel Simpson, Charles Wilson, Wade Vinson, Jackie Grace, Louie Doyle and Buddy Palmer
