All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** David Benjamin Yates - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 15, 1995 Services for David Benjamin Yates, 19, who died on March 11, 1995, at the Riverland Medical Center, Concordia Parish, were held Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the 1st Baptist Church in Oak Grove, La., with the Rev. Kenneth King and Milton Pray officiating. David Benjamin Yates was born on June 26, 1975, in Lake Providence, La., to Leslie and Carolyn Yates of Kilbourne, La. He was a journalism major at LSU where he was on the Student Advisory Council. He was awarded the Manship Scholarship for Journalism at LSU and had been on the Dean's List. A 1993 graduate of Tallulah Academy, David was the Co-Valedictorian of his graduating class. He was a three-year letterman in football, basketball, and track. He was also a member of the MPSA Football Champions in 1992 with an undefeated season. David was a member of the Hill Baptist Church in Oak Grove where his father is currently the pastor. Pallbearers were: Chris Neumann, Ben Neumann, Brian Johnson, Darryl Ellerbee, Robert Hugh Dozier, Heath Ezell.
