Yerger, Sr., 71, were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah with the Rev. Joel Treadwell officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Yerger died Sunday at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans after a long illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Mound, a planter and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Havard Yerger of Mound; two sons, George Havard Yerger of New Orleans, Edward Maxwell Yerger Jr. of Mound; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Rufus T. Yerger, Jimmy Fedrick, Van Rusling Jr., George S. Yerger III, Bill Yerger, Barry Maxwell, Stafford Havard and John Havard Bowlens. Memorials can be sent to the church.
