All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Maye Hutcheson Yerger - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 8, 2003 Maye Hutcheson Yerger died at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, Florida on January 4, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband George S. Yerger, Jr., a prominent planter and businessman, in 1966. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Yerger was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on November 29, 1905 to James O. Hutcheson and Martha Atkinson Hutcheson. Formerly a resident of Helca Plantation, Mound, Louisiana, and a long active in social and civic matters in Madison Parish and Tallulah, Louisiana, she had numerous friends throughout the Louisiana and Mississippi Deltas. Mrs. Yerger was a founding charter member of Chi Omega Sorority at LSU. While on Ocala, she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was moved to Ocala, the home of her daughter, Elizabeth, in 1998. Mrs. Yerger is survived by her daughters, Martha (Mrs. Carl F.) Andre of Jackson, Mississippi, and Elizabeth (Mrs. Dan J.) Wray of Ocala, Florida, and her son George S. Yerger, III of Heber Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial services for Mrs. Yerger will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala on Friday, January 10, and burial will in Vicksburg, Mississippi at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
